Wm. Philip Werschler, MD/FAAD/FAACS

Wm. Philip Werschler MD is the founding member of Spokane Dermatology Clinic and Werschler Aesthetics. Previously, Dr. Werschler founded both Aesthetics Skin Care and the Aesthetic Image Medical Spa. Dr. Werschler received his medical degree with distinction from George Washington University Medical Center, Washington, DC. After graduation Dr. Werschler was invited to the University of Arizona, where he completed his preliminary training in internal medicine, and then was asked to return to George Washington University where he completed his Dermatology fellowship. During his time in Washington, D.C., Dr. Werschler was selected to attend dermatology clinical consultations at the prestigious National Institutes of Health, in Bethesda, MD. Dr. Werschler has been an active teaching member of the University of Washington faculty for over 20 years, where he serves as an Assistant Clinical Professor in Medicine/Dermatology. He has previously served as a Clinic Instructor in Dermatology at the George Washington University, School of Medicine, Washington, DC. He is affiliated with several professional societies, including a full fellow of the American Society for Dermatological Surgery, the American Society of Laser Medicine and Surgery, the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery, the American Academy of Dermatology and the American Society for Mohs Surgery. Dr. Werschler is also a founding member and twice past President of the American Society of Cosmetic Dermatology and Aesthetic Surgery as well as a past President of the Washington State Dermatology Association and the Spokane County Medical Society.

Drawing from his extensive clinical experience, Dr. Werschler has contributed to numerous studies, lectures, and publications in the field of Dermatology. He is also on the editorial boards of several scholarly journals including Skin and Aging, Cutis, Journal of Drugs in Dermatology, and Pathways to Clinical Practice. Dr.Werschler is the founding aesthetic editor of the Journal of Clinical and Aesthetic Dermatology, a PubMed listed journal that is widely regarded as the most influential and authoritative medical journal in aesthetic dermatology. Additionally, Dr. Werschler is the Associate Editor-in-Chief of Cosmetic Dermatology, the specialty’s original journal for cosmetic and aesthetic dermatology.

Dr. Werschler is an internationally recognized expert in both medical and cosmetic dermatology/aesthetic surgery, and in this capacity he has been honored to serve as a FDA investigator for clinical trials throughout his career. Today, nearly all of the FDA approved aesthetic injectible dermal fillers and toxins were tested in his research center, Premier Clinical Research, in Spokane. Dr. Werschler is especially proud of his selection as one of the original Botox FDA investigators, where the pivotal clinical trial for FDA approval of Botox Cosmetic was performed in his office.

Pam J. Schell, PhD(c), MSN, NP-C, DN-C

Pam has been a Registered Nurse since 1984. She graduated from Washington State University and received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from the Intercollegiate College of Nursing. Pam completed her Master’s in Nursing along with an Advanced Practice Nursing degree in Family Practice through WSU and ICN. She is also certified in Dermatological Nursing. She continues her work toward a PhD in Health Psychology as well with a focus toward preventative medicine. Pam joined Spokane Dermatology Clinic in 2002 and has since specialized in laser medicine, cosmetic dermatology, and skincare. Pam is a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, Dermatology Nurses Association, and American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery. She attends several cosmetic dermatology conferences annually throughout the country for advanced cosmetic training. Pam has also received advanced training in the use of toxins and dermal fillers from many top Plastic Surgeons and Dermatologists including Dr. Danny Vleggaar, Geneva and Paris, who is considered one of the world’s leading cosmetic injectors. She also actively pursues ongoing education and training in laser medicine through ASLMS conferences. Pam continues to be a certified trainer for Allergan, Medicis, Bioform-Merz, and Sanofi-Aventis Aesthetics, teaching beginning and advanced injection techniques both locally in the Pacific Northwest and nationally.

Pam also serves as a consultant to the skin care industry, and specializes in the teaching of skin care techniques with different product lines, the best of which are carried at Werschler Aesthetics, Spokane Dermatology Clinic’s Medical Spa.

Julie Taylor, PA-C

Julie has been a Registered Nurse since 1981. She attended Physician Assistant School at MEDEX Northwest through the University of Washington. After graduating, she joined Spokane Dermatology Clinic in 1999. Since then, Julie has pursued extensive training in cosmetic services including attending the Joint International Laser Conference in Edinburgh, Scotland.

Julie is also a clinical preceptor for Physician Assistant students at the MEDEX Northwest, Gonzaga University, and Rocky Mountain College. She enjoys and practices both medical and cosmetic dermatology.

Daniel R. Rhoads PA-C

Dan Rhoads brings over twenty five years of medical experience to Spokane Dermatology Clinic. Dan began his medical career with his dedicated service in the US Air Force. After active duty, while serving in the US Air Force Reserves, he attended The University of Washington, Medex Northwest Physician Assistant Program, graduating in 1997. Dan also has extensive training and experience in dermatology, dermatological surgery, and FDA research.

Dan is an active member of the Washington State Medical Association, the American Academy of Physicians Assistants, the Society of Dermatology Physicians Assistants, and the Spokane County Medical Society. Committed to the education and training of young medical professionals, Dan has also served as a preceptor for several Physician Assistant and Nurse Practitioner students. He also serves on the Advisory Board for Apollo College.

Sir Harry Nevus

Nevus, Spokane Dermatology Clinic's licensed and certified pet therapy specialist and Princely Pooch, holds a lifetime degree in play therapy with a specialized focus on tug-of-war and ball fetching. These dedicated skills make Nevus especially qualified in his pet therapy techniques with all patients. Nevus can make anyone's visit to Spokane Dermatology Clinic more pleasurable with his big smile and wagging tail, but he particularly enjoys working with children. Additionally, Nevus's favorite food is bacon.
