5 tips for keeping your skin looking and feeling healthy during holiday travel

1. Moisturize, moisturize, moisturize.

Before you leave your house, apply a facial moisturizer. (Skin Medica TNS Ceramide Treatment Cream will leave your skin feeling very moist and plump; as well as provide growth factors to boost collagen growth.  Also, iS Clinical has an amazing tinted moisturizing sunscreen, Eclipse 50 Perfectint.)  Remember, an occasional misting will assist in elevating your skins moisture levels. We love iS Clinical’s Copper Mist as it’s great for regulating sebum production and assisting collagen growth while you are up in the air as well. Just keep one in your bag so you can reapply as needed.

2. Care for your hands.

Most of us wash our hands regularly while travelling in an effort to ward off germs! Unfortunately, this leaves you with dry skin, nails, and cuticles. Always keep a travel size hand moisturizer in your bag so you can reapply after every hand wash, gel application, or anytime you feel dry.  (We love Epicuren’s After Bath lotion in all scents.)

3. Don’t neglect your lips.

Because the skin on your lips is so thin and delicate, moisture evaporates off of them more quickly, leading to dry, chapped lips. Pamper your lips with a soothing lip balm, that offer some level of protection – preferably with SPF 15 or 30. Skin Medica’s TNS Lip Plump adds extra moisture, increased volume, and growth factors for beautiful lips.  Need we say more…..

4. Skip the peanuts and pretzels.

Eating salty foods will draw moisture away from the skin and cause swelling and bloating. Bring your own healthy, low-salt or no-salt snacks instead.

5. Beware the booze.

Alcohol dehydrates you and your skin. If you do imbibe, drink 2 glasses of water for each alcoholic drink.

Finally, a bonus-tip for your arrival…  Apply Michael Marcus Sunkissed Bronzer, a compact full of glittering golden sunshine that will erase any signs of jet-lag you may have.
